From Sept. 23 to 28, students from both public and private high schools here will have a taste of how it is to be in public service via the yearly Boys’ and Girls’ Week Celebration of the Rotary Club of Iloilo City (R.I. District 3850).
The young leaders will assume the roles and functions of city officials for them to have a first-hand experience of running a local government unit.
This year’s batch is led by Kathleen Louise Que, a 4th year student of Assumption Iloilo, as Girl Mayor.
Mayor Jed Patrick E. Mabilog personally toured his counterpart around City Hall and gave pointers on how to be an effective leader of the city.
He also briefed her about the duties and responsibilities of the city’s chief executive. The Girl Vice Mayor is Sofia Caram from the Philippine Science High School (PSHS)-Western Visayas.
