Here comes 3G Taxi, the first cab service in the Philippines with free WiFi connection.
Owner Rhodney Uy said that based on his research, his 3G taxi is the first to offer internet connection in the country. “This is another reason to be proud of our city…3G taxi as the first WiFi hotspot in the country is now servicing in the city,” said Uy.
He drives his own unit and because of positive feedback of riding public, he plans to add another unit offering such free WiFi service within the year.
Mayor Jed Patrick E. Mabilog welcomed the development saying the improvement of transport services in the metropolis will help boost the city’s tourism promotions.
Some buses here have also installed WiFi connections. WiFi taxis first hit the streets of London and some US states.
