VBank: Chavit Singson’s vision for financial inclusion and digital payments

Chavit Singson introduced VBank

Senatorial aspirant Luis ‘Manong Chavit’ Singson has introduced VBank, an innovative digital payment platform linked to his Vigan Rural Banco Incorporada, designed to promote financial inclusion and digitize transactions for Filipinos, particularly in underserved areas.

In his recent visit to Iloilo City for Western Visayas Transport Summit, Singson highlighted the challenges many Filipinos face in accessing traditional banking services, especially in rural areas. VBank offers a preloaded card with a ₱100,000 limit, enabling users to pay jeepney fares digitally, send money, and manage their finances with ease.

“VBank empowers users with financial convenience and inclusivity, ensuring every transaction is safe, fast, and seamless,” Singson said.

To underscore VBank’s capabilities, Singson conducted a live demonstration during the summit, transferring ₱10,000 each to the accounts of 18 attendees in real time. This bold gesture not only showcased the platform’s efficiency but also built trust in its ability to revolutionize digital payments.

Supporting PUV Modernization

Integrated with Singson’s push for PUV modernization, VBank provides jeepney operators and passengers with a cashless payment option, improving transparency and operational efficiency. This integration aligns with his broader vision of inclusive progress through technology.

As a long-serving mayor and governor of Ilocos Sur, Singson’s track record underscores his commitment to peace and stability—foundations he views as essential for nationwide progress. “Without peace and stability, projects like VBank and modernization cannot succeed. Sustainable growth begins at the local level and is supported by strong national initiatives,” he said.

Singson’s vision for VBank reflects his broader commitment to equitable development. “I want to see financial access and innovation reach every corner of the Philippines. VBank is a step toward that goal,” he remarked.

With its potential to transform financial transactions and support the modernization of public transport, VBank is a testament to Singson’s dedication to leveraging technology for inclusive growth and sustainable progress.
