Philippine Coast Guard in Iloilo has released the boat manifest of MB Tawash which capsized on Sunday while traversing Iloilo-Guimaras strait. Check the complete names of passengers, including the casualties and those still recuperating in hospitals below.
Lieutenant Edison Diaz, station commander of Coast Guard Iloilo, said over Aksyon Radyo Iloilo that the number of deaths is now at 8 after the body missing 3-year-old boy Carl Joseph Gamotia was found floating ashore in Barangay Sawang, Buenavista on Tuesday.
The pump boat had a total of 41 persons on board, 36 passengers and 5 crews, when it was toppled by strong winds and waves approximately 2 kilometers off Parola wharf.
Thirty passengers have survived, 8 were confirmed dead, 1 still missing and 2 more still in the hospital.

Lt. Diaz clarified that there was no storm signal in Iloilo and Guimaras when the accident happened. The weather was relatively fair, hence they allowed MB Tawash and other pump boats to sail on a reduced capacity.
Further investigation showed that the boat captain, Donald Galotera, did not sign the required master’s declaration of safe departure or MDSD on the on-duty Coast Guard personnel.
