Mayor Jerry P. Treñas delivered a heartwarming message to the 36 new and promoted City Hall employees. This, as he sought their continued support to ensure the sustained development of the city.
“I count on your support and cooperation to make sure that the trajectory of Iloilo City and its development and growth must continue even after I am no longer the mayor,” he said.
Treñas highlighted the importance of unity among employees and officials.
“Our city will not move this fast unless the city employees themselves and our officials move as one and have the same direction. I would like to think that the direction of Iloilo City should always move as one and what we have now should be sustained,” he said.
The mayor proudly shared how Iloilo City has become a benchmark for other local government units (LGUs), with over 50 LGUs and institutions visiting to learn from its best practices.
Recent visitors include Naga City led by former Vice President Leni Robredo, Legazpi City under Mayor Alfredo Garbin Jr., Clark Development Corporation chaired by Agnes Devanadera, and Museo de Intramuros officials.
Treñas reiterated that Iloilo City has become a model city not because of the leader but because of the total support and complete cooperation coming from the employees and the people.
“The leader will only give the direction, the vision, but the implementation of whatever programs that we have will really depend on the employees, it will really come from your support to make sure that this direction continues and Iloilo City will continue to move forward for your children’s sake and for your grandchildren’s sake,” he underscored.
