Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) Governor Amando M. Tetangco, Jr. will lead bank officials in the conduct of activities under the BSP Economic and Financial Learning Program (BSP-EFLP) for Western Visayas here at Iloilo City on Oct. 2-4.
Gov. Tetangco will lead the Oct. 2 formal opening of the 6th leg of the program that will be attended by representatives of the banking sector, business and academic communities, officials from other government agencies, and members of the media. Tetangco will be joined by BSP Deputy Governor Diwa C. Guinigundo.
The event will be highlighted by the re-launching of the Economic and Financial Learning Center (EFLC) of the BSP in its Iloilo Branch Office. The activity will start with the unveiling of the EFLC-Iloilo signage, followed by the blessing of the EFLC premises.
The BSP-EFLP consolidates the educational outreach activities of the BSP under one flagship program. It consists of a series of learning sessions and activities which aim to promote greater public awareness and understanding of essential economic and financial issues.

BSP said the learning sessions and activities of the BSP-EFLP are expected to help people make wise financial decisions. It added that the program also embodies the goal of the BSP to promote economic and financial education among its stakeholders, who can then become its more effective partners in maintaining stable prices as well as in ensuring a stronger and safer banking and payments system.
