The Iloilo City Government has named the 14 winners for the search for The Outstanding Women of Iloilo City (TOWIL) 2018 with awarding ceremony at Robinsons Place Iloilo on March 27 at 4pm.
The awardees are Helen Romero for professional category; Dr. Mary Barby Badayos Jover for academe; Rhea Inocencio-Peñaflorida for business; Liberty Porras for culture and arts; Dr. Marlyn Convocar for government service; Rysty Ann Espinosa- Borja for judicial; Ma. Ramelia Vasquez for media; Dr. Ellen Dumayas-Abelita for medical; Ivy Gurrea for non-government office (NGO) or civic organization; Senior Police Officer 3 Ruth Laudato for protective service; Emma Victoria for religious; Floramie Navales for sports; Stella Muzones for persons with disability; and Japhet Grace Moleta for volunteerism.
“The City Government recognizes the role of women in our society and we want to give the recognition they deserve through this award,” said Mayor Jose Espinosa III.
The citation is in line with the celebration of Women’s Month this March as well as recognizing women who have made exemplary contributions in the metropolis, said City Population Officer Mary Ann Ramos, co-chairman of the event.
