Good news! The Grid Iloilo in Atria Park Distric, Mandurriao has been designated as a a Special Economic Zone (SEZ).
On August 27, President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. signed Proclamation Nos. 668 creating The Grid IT Center Iloilo as an SEZ.
Under Proclamation, more than 2000 sqm land area will be designated to The Grid IT Center with initial investment of PhP 193 Million for the building construction and land.
According to Special Economic Zone Act, SEZs are “selected areas with highly developed or which have the potential to be developed into agro-industrial, industrial tourist/recreational, commercial, banking, investment, and financial centers.”
The Grid – Iloilo already expects three companies engaged in the IT-BPM sector to locate, with an estimated PhP 10 Million to be invested and 250 workers to be employed.
“In collaboration with other government agencies and industry partners, PEZA furthers its commitment in eco-zoning the Philippines towards inclusive and sustainable development—para sa Bagong Pilipinas!” expressed PEZA Director General Tereso O. Panga.
