Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) will offer some PHP1.2 million worth of skills training to selected beneficiaries in Iloilo City.

Specifically, the project will accommodate 94 beneficiaries from the women sector, persons with disabilities (PWDs), senior citizens and the Empowerment and Re-affirmation of Paternal Abilities Training (ERPAT) who will be identified by the City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO).
Jose Jerry Hallares of TESDA Iloilo said that the training includes carpentry, masonry, plumbing, welding, electrical installation and maintenance, food processing and massage therapy, among others.
The city government will have to shell out PHP200,000 as counterpart fund.
On Tuesday, the Sangguniang Panlungsod (SP) approved a resolution that authorized Mayor Jed Patrick Mabilog to sign an agreement with TESDA for the implementation of the project.
TESDA funds will come from the Bottom Up Budgeting Process, a poverty alleviation initiative of the national government. (via PNA)
