ILOILO, PHILIPPINES – August 2024 – To honor the hard work and dedication of Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs), Sun Life Philippines recently hosted the Shine Pinoy Overseas Homecoming event in Iloilo City. Over 40 OFWs, seafarers, and their families joined the event for a day of learning, excitement, and inspiration.
The Shine Pinoy Overseas Homecoming event featured activities designed to celebrate the OFWs’ journey and empower them to secure a brighter future. At the event, the attendees got to play a special OFW-themed edition of Sun Life’s new board game, Play for Life. This version of the game mirrors relatable scenarios, milestones, and life decisions faced by OFWs, providing an exciting way to learn about financial literacy.
The event was facilitated by Randell Tiongson, a renowned personal finance and life coach. He provided the attendees with valuable insights and guidance on financial planning and goal setting.
Meanwhile, 23 Sun Life financial advisors facilitated the Play for Life game for the OFW attendees and their families. These advisors were trained and onboarded to facilitate the game for their clients to pave the way for educating more OFWs about the importance of financial planning.
To help OFWs and their families secure their future, Sun Life shared details about its Home for Good packages, a suite of tailored financial solutions designed to support OFWs and their families in achieving financial security and achieving their dream of coming home for good. These packages offer a comprehensive range of insurance and investment products to meet their specific needs.
The participants expressed their gratitude for the opportunity to learn from financial experts, connect with fellow OFWs, and explore new ways to become more financially literate. Sun Life’s commitment to empowering OFWs was evident, as they left the event feeling more inspired and equipped to take the next steps towards a brighter future.
“It is an honor to host the Shine Pinoy Overseas Homecoming event and celebrate our OFWs,” said Cary Casipit, Head of Client Segments Marketing of Sun Life Philippines. “Our goal is to provide them with the tools and resources they need to attain financial stability, achieve their dreams, and come home for good.”
