The proposed plan of the Yusay-Consing Mansion in the vicinity of Molo plaza has been going viral around social media, thanks to Ilonggo netizens who are very excited of this latest project by SM Land.

In 2013, SM Land hired Architect Augusto ‘Toti’ Villalon in partnership with tropiks Design Studio for the refurbishment and conservation of Yusay Mansion in Molo, Iloilo.
In an email to a friend, Villalon said that they are indeed “working with SM Land for the Yusay Mansion.”
“The house will not be torn down. It is to be converted into a showcase for outstanding Iloilo craft and food, and a retail building will be constructed in the space around the house. This is the first of such projects by SM Land who is committed to doing more in the future.”
Initial proposal for the project is that it will be an adaptive re-use as a Retail/Museum for Kultura wherein Iloilo local products will be showcased. The mansion’s big front lawn will be a continuation of the Molo plaza. [via Source here and here]
