SM City Iloilo was recently awarded by the Department of Environment and Natural Resourses-Environmental Management Bureau Region 6(DENR-EMB 6) in a program held recently in celebration of the Philippine Environment Month.

The mall has been in partnership with the DENR in environmental projects by providing the venue in their exhibits and programs as well as joining in the various community initiatives of the agency.
Just recently, The Share-A-Road project of DENR-EMB VI was launched with an opening program at SM City Iloilo. The project was for the purpose of educating the public of sharing the road to bikers and for establishments to set up bike racks in their premises for the convenience and safety of the bikers and their bikes.
After the inauguration of the bike racks in the mall, biker participants proceeded with the fun ride around the city to inaugurate bike racks in schools, the Iloilo City Hall and The Provincial Capitol to name a few.
The Gawad EMB award was given to partners who have extended unrelenting support to the programs of the agency for the past years.
