With the safety of its customers, employees, and tenants in mind, SM City Iloilo held its annual Joint Tactical Inspection and General Assembly of Troops at mall’s open parking area on Thursday, February 6.
Now on its 13th year, the activity is conducted by Customer Relations Service (CRS) Department of SM Supermalls to ensure that their security guards are always ready to fulfill their assignments for the security and safety of the mall-goers.
The inspection was done under the leadership of by Almus Alabe, senior vice president for Customer Relations Services of SM Supermalls. SM Regional Operations Manager for Visayas 3 Ms. Girlie Liboon, SM City Iloilo Mall Manager Engr. Gilbert Domingo, Asst Mall Manager Darrel John Defensor, SM AVP-FRG Mr. Victor Santiago, CSP; CRS SM Retail AVP Mr. Charleston Tan; and Regional CRS Manager for Visayas 3 Mr. Tristan Yana, CSP, EMR are also in attendance.
PCol. Fidel Dacpano, Chief Regional Civil Security Unit 6 of of PNP Regional Office 6, was the guest of honor and speaker of the event.
In his speech, Alabe congratulated the SM Iloilo mall guards for garnering the top spot in security audit last year. “Let us continue to work together to ensure that we are going to maintain, if not improve, our security audit for 2020,” Alabe said.
Engr. Domingo appreciated the efforts of the security personnel for ‘carrying out their duty well.’
“You secure our customers so that they can create the best memories for their loved ones here at SM, and even serve as a haven for people during times of disaster,” Domingo added.
PCol. Dacpano reminded the security team of SM of the importance of their roles in the community. “You’re all aware that you are part of force multiplier of Philippine National Police. We will be leaning on your support,” Dacpano said.
Some security personnel who exemplified honesty and trustworthiness by returning valuable recovered items, like wallets and bags containing cash, were also recognized in the ceremony.
