The management of SM City Iloilo has decided to close the mall on Friday, November 8, due to super typhoon Yolanda.
In an advisory posted in their Facebook page, the biggest mall in Iloilo made the closure “for the safety of our employees, tenants and shoppers.” Here’s the full advisory:
For the safety of our employees, tenants and shoppers, SM City Iloilo will be closed today, November 8 until further notice.
There are designated areas in the mall for people who may need shelter from the storm.

Typhoon Yolanda is the strongest tropical storm to enter the country this year, and in the latest weather bulletin issued by PAGASA, Iloilo and entire province of Panay is under storm signal no. 4. Classes have been suspended in whole of Iloilo.
City Mayor Jed Mabilog assured that the city government is fully prepared for the typhoon, with the Command Center already set at the 8th floor of the Iloilo City Hall (Penthouse).
