SM City Iloilo has donated P1-million worth of children’s playground development at Molo plaza.
SM Regional Operations Manager for Visayas 3 Girlie Liboon formally turned over on Thursday, February 18, the playground to Brgy. Captain Pochoy Lapascua of San Pedro, Molo, together with Iloilo City Mayor Jed Patrick Mabilog and Iloilo City Councilor Jay Treñas.
The colorful playground is SM City Iloilo’s contribution to the beautification project of the city, as it complemented the historic plaza known for its Molo Church and Molo Mansion.
Most importantly, the donation will give the children a suitable and conducive space to play and enjoy.
“We feel that we are really part of the community. We are very pleased to give a little help to the community, especially to our children,” said Liboon.
In his speech, Mayor Jed Patrick E. Mabilog thanked SM for the development of children’s playground at Molo plaza, and highlighted that the improvement “is a manifestation of strong Public-Private Partnership in making the city livable.”
“Thank you SM City Iloilo. May your ‘big heart’ continue in showing your love for the place where you are in,” Mabilog added.
Molo Parish Priest Fr. Boy Celiz led the blessing of the playground. SM bears were also given to some children of Molo.
