The Iloilo City Government is now searching for The Outstanding Women of Iloilo City (TOWIL) 2013 with nominations open until February 28.
“Women play significant roles not just in their homes and families but also in nation-building and progress of society. Thus, we give honor to the valuable contributions of women in various fields of endeavor,” stressed Mayor Jed Patrick E. Mabilog.
The event in time with celebration of Women’s Month in March aims to give due recognition to women who have manifested exemplary performance in their particular field of profession that significantly contributed to city’s development.
The nominations shall be based according to their achievements in their respective fields of expertise namely: judiciary; protective and security services; religion; professional services; academe and education; sports; arts and culture; math, science and technology; business, corporation and entrepreneurship; media, public information and journalism; NGO and civic organizations; social services and volunteerism; persons with disability; government service; and philanthropic works.
The City Hall’s Gender and Development Program together with City Council’s office of Committee on Women and Family Relations and city’s Gender and Development (GAD) Team are spearheading the search for outstanding Ilonggas.
