Smart Communications is encouraging students and film-making enthusiasts to promote what’s unique about Iloilo by joining this year’s Doon Po Sa Amin video contest.
Started in 2008, Doon Po Sa Amin (DPSA) is the country’s first and biggest crowd-sourcing competition designed to uncover the best and most unique stories about the Philippine culture and heritage.
This year, the DPSA contest will look for the best videos produced by high school and college students as well as young professionals and independent film-making enthusiasts, which will contribute to the development and promotion of local tourism.
A video entry must be presented as a short film, music video, documentary or animation of what’s unique and interesting in your hometown that you’re proud to share. It must fall on the following categories:
- Activities to enjoy
- Food to eat
- History to uncover
- People to meet
- Places to go
- Plants and animals to discover
- Community products to support
The contest will be in Student and Open Divisions.
Student Division
- Teams should be composed of 8-10 High School or College students.
- Teams are required to have a teacher-coach (minimum of 1; maximum of 3). The teacher-coach will be part of the participating team and will serve as the team’s official representative.
- Students from different sections/levels/courses can compose a team.
- All members must be officially enrolled in a school/university.
- There shall be no inter-school collaboration for any entry.
- All members of the teams should be residing in the Philippines.
Open Division
- Teams should be composed of 8-10 independent film-making enthusiasts.
- There is no age limit.
- Participants in a team can be a professional or non-professional.
- Teams should designate one official representative of the team.
- Characters and production crew can be part of the team members.
- All members of the teams should be residing in the Philippines.

Deadline of submission of entries has been extended to November 30, 2014. More than P500,000 are up for grabs to the teams with the best stories.
