Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) is urging all professionals with less than a year left in their license validity to renew before the year ends.
PRC Regional Office 6 in Iloilo City made this call as the agency will start implementing the new Continuing Professional Development (CPD) law and its requirements on July next year.
Republic Act 10912 or the Continuing Professional Development Act of 2016, which lapsed into law this July, requires all professionals under the PRC Regulatory Boards to earn CPD units before renewing their PRC license card.
CPD units may be earned through seminars, workshops, training and other programs accredited by PRC CPD Councils.
“Continuing Professional Development is a requirement for the renewal of professional licenses. Kung wala na sila, bale next year mid of July 2017, indi sila ma renew,” said PRC-6 acting regional director Blesilda Masangcay in an interview over RMN Iloilo.
“Forty-five units are required for various professionals, and then for CPA would be 120 but initially, 90.”
