Mayor Jed Patrick E. Mabilog led the opening of Philippine Postal Corporation’s (PHLPOST) Philately Exhibit and Counter Launch at Robinsons Lingkod Pinoy Centers September 17.
The event also included the launching of commemorative stamps for the late Sec. Jesse Robredo.
“Communicating via ‘snail mail’ and using stamps has always been effective for some people; this is one practice that I believe will continue despite modern technology, the advent of emails and cellular phones,” the mayor said.
He urged the Ilonggo public to take advantage of the accessibility of the post office through the PHLPOST counter in Robinsons Place.
The mayor was joined by Postmaster General Ma. Josefina Mendoza-dela Cruz and PHLPOST local officials during the ribbon cutting.
PESO Job Fair
Mabilog also attended the job organized by the city government through the Public Employment Service Office (PESO) in the same mall.
A total of 70 participating agencies, 30 of which are overseas and 40 local companies joined the job fair.
“We are continually conducting events like this to help curb the unemployment and underemployment rate here in the city,” Mayor Jed Patrick E. Mabilog said.
Under his administration, the PESO holds almost monthly job fairs to cater to the needs of employment agencies and jobseekers as well.Source: Iloilo City Govt Facebook.
