The Iloilo City Public Employment Service Office (PESO) is set to conduct two job fairs this month of November 2013.
A total of 33 local and 17 overseas hiring agencies will receive applicants in Gaisano Capital, La Paz on November 9; and on November 16, 27 local and 16 overseas agencies will accommodate jobseekers at Robinson’s Place-Iloilo.
“Many agencies are now joining when we have job fairs because they believe we produce quality manpower,” Mayor Jed Patrick E. Mabilog said.
“This is to answer also the employment needs in the city,” said Ma. Elena Benitez, PESO Iloilo City manager.
Applicants are advised to pre-register at PESO, 5th floor of Iloilo City Hall, to avoid inconvenience during the day of the job fair. Agencies are looking for skilled workers, domestic helpers and medical professionals.
During the “I Am Iloilo, Proud to be Ilonggo” Job Fair last September 17, 56 agencies participated, 216 pre-registered applicants, 1,047 registered applicants, and 358 were hired on the spot.
Aside from the scheduled job fairs, there are agencies conducting applicant interviews in the PESO from time to time.
Benitez is encouraging jobseekers to call their office at 333-1111 local 516 during office hours for job postings and announcements.
