Iloilo City Government has rid the Eusabio Villanueva Building of the crisscrossing wires of telecommunications company.
“We want everyone to appreciate the beauty of this heritage structure by doing away with eyesores that obstruct the view of this magnificent building,” Mayor Jed Patrick E. Mabilog said.
“This is just the part of our on-going initiatives to clear our streets, and the ‘spaghetti wires’ have long been a problem that needs urgent solution,” he added.
The Eusebio Villanueva Building or commonly known as International Hotel is located at J.M. Basa corner Aldeguer Streets.
Considered as the icon of Iloilo’s downtown area and Calle Real heritage buildings, the E. Villanueva Building is also the largest, containing three floors of office and retail spaces. Credits: Iloilo City Govt Facebook.
