Iloilo City Mayor Jerry P. Treñas announced Saturday, August 8 that there are 49 new cases of Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) from IQor alone.
In a message to members of the press, Treñas said that of the number, 28 are residents of Iloilo City. This brings the total new cases in the metropolis at 56. These results were received by the City Government from 10:41 PM last nigh to 2:11 PM today.
The breakdown of new cases are as follows: Lapuz Norte – 1, MH del Pilar, Jaro – 2 ( one of which is a security of Landbank Jaro), Calaparan – 1 ( call center agent of HGS), East Timawa – 1, Mansaya, Lapuz – 1 ( jail officer), Tanza Baybay – 1 ( Landbank utility), San Juan, Molo – 14 ( contact tracing), Bo. Obrero – 1 ( landbank employee), North Baluarte – 5 ( contact tracing), San Pedro – 1 , PHHC 22 – 3 (CSR- IQOR), Mcarthur – 1 (CSR- IQOR), Bolilao – 2 (CSR- IQOR), Yulo, Arevalo – 1 (CSR-IQOR), Lopez Jaena, Jaro – 1 (CSR- IQOR);

Yesterday, Iloilo City also has 56 new cases of COVID-19 with 53 from local transmission and three are LSI/OFW/APOR.
Selective lockdowns continue
Due to continued rise in the number of COVID-19 cases, Treñas ordered the extension of selective lockdowns for three more days on the following areas: IQor, Super or Terminal Market, Pala-pala 1, Pala-pala 2, and Tanza Baybay in City Proper; San Juan and North Baluarte in Molo, and Cuartero in Jaro.
Iloilo Fishing Port will also remain in lockdown until such time that they employ sufficient compliance officers.
