Passengers at Iloilo Airport are now enjoying a more comfortable experience with the early arrival and activation of three new chillers, which have been installed ahead of the September replacement deadline.
Following a successful factory acceptance test at Hitachi’s Japan facility, the three chillers worth P37.5 Million arrived on July 16 and were fully installed and operational by July 30.
To further ensure smooth operation, Hitachi Philippines and True-Temp Corp provided comprehensive training for the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) staff, covering both operational procedures and basic troubleshooting. This proactive approach guarantees that CAAP personnel are well-equipped to maintain the new equipment effectively.
In total, Iloilo Airport now has four new chillers, including one that arrived in June 2023. These new units replaced four of the five old chillers, with one of the old chillers being retained as a backup for rotational use. This upgrade enhances the airport’s cooling capacity and ensures continued operational efficiency.
By staying ahead of schedule with these vital upgrades, CAAP demonstrates its ongoing commitment to improving operational excellence and passenger comfort at Iloilo Airport.
