The Mutya ng Guimaras beauty pageant will once again dazzle this year’s celebration of Manggahan Festival slated on May 11-22, 2019.
One of the many highlights of the sweetest festival this side of the country will be the annual staging of the search for the Mutya ng Guimaras. The prestigious beauty pageant kicked off with the launching and fashion show of the official candidates and a press presentation last April 6 held at SEDA Hotel Iloilo and Robinsons Place Iloilo, respectively.
The pre-pageant activities are the resort wear competition which will be hosted by the Municipality of San Lorenzo on April 6, the swimwear competition at the Municipality of Sibunag on April 13, festival costume competition at the Municipality of Nueva Valencia of April 23, casual wear competition on April 28 at the Municipality of Buenavista and talent competition on May 4 to be held at the Municipality of Jordan.
The pageant will culminate with a grand coronation night on May 19 at the Capitol Gym, Municipality of Jordan.
The eight (8) lovely candidates representing their municipalities are Jannah Glycel Geraldine Poncy of Nueva Valencia, Lorenz Jane Amatorio & Elle Abella of Jordan, Joegie Kaye Pabillo and Densie Galvan both of Sibunag, Krista Vinas and Ryda Mae Tutong of Buenavista and Irynne Jo Vilches of San Lorenzo.
This annual beauty search is the province of Guimaras’ way of choosing its tourism ambassadress. The winner will embody not only the physical attributes, beauty, talent and intelligence of the Guimarasnons but should also have that smile that mesmerizes, a smile as sweet as the world-famous mangoes of Guimaras.
