Ilonggos showcased their passion, grit, and singing prowess in MORE Power Kantahan, a videoke-themed competition organized by Iloilo City’s sole power distribution company, MORE Power. The contest celebrates the beloved Filipino pastime of videoke, which brings life to occasions like birthdays, reunions, and parties.
In the first round of the competition, participants from Bo. Obrero sang songs that included the word “More” in their titles, demonstrating creativity and dedication. For the second challenge, contestants performed the MORE Power Up jingle, embodying the spirit of the company’s innovative services.
Winners of the barangay-level contests will advance to district and city-wide knock-out rounds, culminating in a grand championship.
“Nami gid eh kasadya kag makakuha gid sa mga barangay. Huo eh lipay ko ya at least nakita ko akon performance. Nami man kay ang ila ano sa billing dasig,” shared one contestant, expressing excitement and gratitude.
Senior citizen Vicente Espinosa also added, “Masadya kag malipay man ta sa amon nga mga senior.” Meanwhile, Barangay Kagawad Norden Opolla appreciated the initiative, saying, “Baw maayo gid ni para kabalo man nga ang MORE nagapakita sang kaayuhan sa Barangay. Maayo gid na maguwa ang talent sang atun manug kanta sa barangay.”
