The search for Miss Iloilo Paraw Regatta Festival 2013 goes global in an effort to spread more awareness and promotions for Iloilo City with the Grand Coronation Night starting 7pm at Freedom Grandstand Wednesday Feb.13.
Mayor Jed Patrick E. Mabilog hopes the winner and even all candidates will serve ambassadresses of goodwill helping promoting the city in the regional, national and even international tourism events.
This year’s pageant showcases the charming and talented beauties from across Western Visayas region and even an Ilonggo community in Australia.
Miss Paraw Regatta 2013 candidates
They are Rena Defino of Guimaras; Cyra Ann Ycoy of Negros Occidental; Antonette Balsomo of Ilonggo Community of Darwin, Australia; Shenna May Alcantara of Capiz; Wyna Lacabe of Iloilo; Caren Braun of Aklan; Sigrid Gace Flores of Antique; Jeli Vale Paparon of Passi City; Glory Jane Sumagaysay of Banate, Iloilo; Ericka Joy Huervana of Iloilo City; half-Moroccan Jayn Al-Naseb of Leganes, Iloilo; and Jcka Sugatan of Miag-ao, Iloilo.
The winner will represent Iloilo along with Miss Dinagyang in the Reyna ng Aliwan pageant in Manila in April, thus promoting Paraw Regatta and Iloilo to a national audience, said Tres Solis, organizer and chairman of special events committee.
Iloilo Paraw Regatta Foundation Inc. (IPRFI) chairman Manny Villa, Jr. wanted the organizer to invite national and international beauties to join next year’s search for wider promotions of the sailing festival and sports tourism event.
Earlier, the annual festival opened in glittering ceremonies at the Freedom Grandstand Feb. 10.
