After three consecutive days of zero new cases of Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) in the region, the municipality of Miagao in southern Iloilo recorded another patient positive with the disease.
Dr. Patricia Grace Trabado, provincial health officer of Iloilo, confirmed that as of 9 P.M. of April a 22-year-old male patient from Miagao tested positive for COVID-19.
The patient labeled as WV #41 is the grandson of the town’s second confirmed case, a 94-year-old male labeled as WV #31 who passed away due to COVID-19 last April 7.
The former is the one taking care of his grandfather in the hospital.
Miagao now has a total of 3 confirmed cases, bringing the total to 16 in Iloilo province. Of this number, four has expired while two have recovered.
Iloilo Province reported 11,871 persons under monitoring, with 11,382 already finished with their 14-day mandatory quarantine.
