There will be no classes in public and private elementary and high schools in Iloilo City on Monday, January 26, 2015.
The class suspension was announced by City Mayor Jed Patrick E. Mabilog on Sunday, right after the awarding of winners of Dinagyang Festival 2015. Here’s the announcement as posted in social network page:
Classes are suspended in both public and private elementary and high schools in Iloilo City tomorrow, Jan. 26, 2015. Classes in the college level in Iloilo City will depend on the Commission on Higher Education and the college/university administration. – Mayor Jed Patrick E. Mabilog
The city has successfully held the this year’s Dinagyang Festival, which has drawn hundreds of thousands of local and foreign tourists in the week-long festivities.
Meanwhile, Senator Franklin Drilon praised Mabilog for a job well done in managing Dinagyang and the city as a whole.
“Let me greet Mayor Jed Patrick Mabilog a congratulations , on whose leadership, have made Iloilo City what it is today. Isa ka syudad nga pwede ta mapabugal sa pungsod ta kag sa bilog nga kalibutan , we will continue to be better , we will continue to improve, we will move towards progress and I will not allow anyone to stop the progress of our beloved Iloilo City, ” Drilon said.
