Iloilo City mayor Jed Patrick Mabilog will ask the Sangguniang Panlungsod (SP) to pass an ordinance that would gradually phase out spaghetti wires that are considered an eye sore, especially at the downtown area.
The mayor said that he will make the formal request to the council about the passage of this ordinance during his state of the city address (SOCA) on Wednesday next week.
The spaghetti wires belong to electrical companies, telecommunication firms, cable providers, among others.
Mabilog said that he would like the complete phase out of these spaghetti wires in the next three years.
These wires, he said, are not only considered an eye sore but likewise dangerous.
Pending the passage of the ordinance, the city government has called on owners to have the wires bundled. (Source: PNA)
