ILOILO City – Not all heroes wear capes, some are just watching movies. Yes, you can be a hero by just watching a movie as Junior Chamber International Regatta (JCI Regatta) is holding a special movie screening for the benefit of real life heroes – the soldiers who are defending peace and justice in Marawi City.
With the aim of generating funds to help the soldiers deployed in Marawi City, JCI Regatta will be having a special screening of the movie “Thor: Ragnarok” on October 25, 6:30 pm at SM City Iloilo Cinema 8.
Called “H.E.R.O for the Heroes”, the said fundraising project is in line with the mission of JCI Philippines in promoting world peace.
HERO stands for “Help Everyone Reinforce Others” and this also reflects one of the goals of JCI Regatta which is to empower others, especially the young individuals become drivers of positive change.
For only P260, you can already watch a movie, meet and greet your favorite Marvel superheroes, and most of all, become part of a noble cause.
“While Thor is a well-known superhero, JCI Regatta is also encouraging everyone to become heroes of their own not only by taking part in this fundraising activity but also by living up the values that the organization inculcates,” JCI Regatta 2018 President Diospyros Fuentes said.
JCI Regatta is an organization that empowers young people to create positive change, is composed of diverse young Ilonggo leaders ages 18 to 40 years old driven with a passion to serve and working together to bring about positive change to society.
Among the notable programs of JCI Regatta include The Outstanding Students of Iloilo Awards (TOSIA) which honors excellent Ilonggo students and the Pinoy Icon which acknowledges the great contributions of unsung heroes of the modern age in the society.
