Various groups from the public and private sectors join the celebration of Earth Hour in Iloilo City last March 30, 2019.
The event, held at the SM Southpoint of SM City Iloilo, was an overwhelming success, as it showed strength in numbers in combating and reducing the effects of climate change that the world is facing.
Together with Alima Community, Artvism, Federation Sun Yat Sen Lion and Dragon Dance Troupe, City Sports, PCD School of Performing Arts, University of the Philippines – Choristers, Red Cross Youth Iloilo Chapter, West Visayas University, Park-Inn by Radisson Iloilo ,the Iloilo City Government represented by Mayor Jose Espinosa III together with councilors Dylee Zulueta and Mandrie Malabor, the Iloilo Provincial Government represented by PENRO, Boys Scout of the Philippines, Girls Scout of the Philippines and with the support of Davies Paints, this year’s Earth Hour Celebration was a meaningful event, as it signified the support of the partners in this global movement for the environment.

The mall including its tenants, together with SM Strata and Park-Inn by Radisson Iloilo turned off major lightings in their respective establishments, in observance of Earth Hour. Spreading awareness through art, Alima Community painted a mural in a wall near the entrance of SM Southpoint.
This year’s events focuses on sustainable efforts and partnerships that contribute to the well-being of the community in particular and the environment in general.
SM City Iloilo continues to support advocacies for the environment as its corporate social responsibility in making a clean and safe environment for all.
