SPO3 Rhia Sotomil will receive Metrobank Foundation Award for Outstanding Policeman in the country in recognition of her efforts in promoting genuine partnership among the police and the community residents.
A policewoman in the service for 16 years now, Sotomil currently serves at the Women and Children’s Desk in Pavia Police Station.
She attributed her award to her fellow police officers in Pavia who have helped her in promoting her program Pavia PEACE-PACT (Parents, Educators, and Children’s Education Against All Types of Crimes).
She said the judges have recognized her effort in promoting genuine partnership among the police, the parents, school officials and the community in addressing all types of criminality zeroing on in drug addiction.
“We also have other programs on women empowerment programs and charitable projects such as Gift of Love and Santa Police every Christmas,” she explained.
Sotomil will receive her award together with two other Ilongga teachers, Nueva P. Mangaoang of Man-it Integrated School of Passi City and Dr. Hilda C. Montano of West Visayas State University in Iloilo city, both recipients of the Metrobank Outstanding Teachers Award in a ceremonies that will be held in Shangrila Hotel, Manila on Sept. 5.
