A beauty queen who hails from Iloilo but represented Manila City won the Miss Philippines Earth 2015 pageant at the SM Mall of Asia Arena on Sunday.

Angelia Gabrena Ong, 24, bested 30 other candidates to take home the crown and represent the Philippines in the 2015 edition of Miss Earth.
During the Question and Answer portion, singer-actress Zsa Zsa Padilla asked Ong about her view regarding same-sex marriage. Her answer:
“It really depends on the person if he/she in the same-sex marriage but as for me, if the person feels that he/she needs to be married to show his/her love, then I don’t mind having same-sex marriage. If you feel that that is love, so be it.”

Iloilo City’s bet Jona Sweett, reigning Miss Iloilo Paraw Regatta 2015, also made it to the top 5 and won the Miss Philippines Eco-Tourism award.
