The Iloilo provincial government, through the Public Employment Service Office (PESO), will hold a job fair on Dec. 13 at the capitol lobby as Christmas gift of Gov. Arthur Defensor Sr. for his constituents.
PESO chief Francisco Heler said that more than 20 companies based in this city and Metro Manila will participate in the one-day job fair, dubbed as “Regalong Trabaho Galing Kay Gov. Art Defensor.”
“Thousands of job orders will be made available by the participating companies that will hire both professionals and skilled workers,” Heler said.
He also said that one of those who was hired during last year’s job fair and now works at the Dubai Duty Free recently thanked the provincial government for paving the opportunity for her to find a job. “She said she’s very grateful that now she’s sending her two siblings to school and has improved their home,” Heler said.
He said that the job fair is in coordination with the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE).
During the job fair, the Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth), Philippine Overseas Employment Agency (POEA) and other government agencies will set up help desks to further assist those who would be hired.
