The government has laid out plans for its biggest infrastructure projects during the term of President Rodrigo Duterte, and Iloilo-Guimaras-Negros-Cebu link bridge was one of the highlights of the presentation.
Presidential Communications (PCO) Secretary Martin Andanar, Transportation (DOTr) Secretary Arthur Tugade, Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Secretary Mark Villar, Socioeconomic Planning Secretary Ernesto Pernia, Presidential Spokesperson Ernesto Abella, and Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA) President and CEO Vince Dizon held a press briefing tackling these priority projects at the New Executive Building in Malacañang on Thursday, November 3, 2016.
Andanar exclaimed that the battlecry of this administration as far as infrastructure is: build, build and build.
Villar said that the proposed Iloilo-Guimaras-Negros-Cebu link bridge “will be the most ambitious bridge program in the history of our nation.”
The secretary of DPWH added that the value of the project is at $1 billion.

“It will boost the production not only in Iloilo, but also in Guimaras,” he added.
