The Iloilo City Government Public Information Office (PIO) was recognized as the best in Western Visayas, earning multiple prestigious awards during the 2024 Information Officers’ Year-End Conference and Awards organized by the Philippine Information Agency (PIA) Regional Office 6.
The accolades highlight the PIO’s unwavering dedication to public service through effective information dissemination, education, and communication initiatives. The awards ceremony was held on December 12 at District 21 Hotel, Mandurriao, Iloilo City.

KaUSWAGan Earns Hall of Fame Status
The city’s official publication, KaUSWAGan, reached a milestone as it was inducted into the Hall of Fame for being named the Best Newsletter/Tabloid in Western Visayas for three consecutive years. The quarterly newsletter showcases the programs, initiatives, and achievements of the Iloilo City Government under the leadership of Mayor Jerry P. Treñas, with its year-end issue summarizing significant developments.
Jeehan Fernandez: Best Performing Public Information Officer
Jeehan Fernandez, a key figure in the City Public Information Office, was recognized as the Best Performing Public Information Officer in Region 6. Her dedication to bridging the communication gap between the government and the public was lauded for fostering transparency, accountability, and engagement in governance.
