Iloilo City Public Information Office (PIO) was cited as one of the Best Performing Public Information Offices in Western Visayas by the Philippine Information Agency (PIA)-6 during the 2018 Information Officers’ Year-end Conference and Awards at District 21 Hotel Dec. 12.
PIO was given a plaque and certificate of recognition. The citation was based on consistency, diligence and committed service to the public through information, education and communication programs, activities and services.
Iloilo City’s official publication was also awarded Third Place Best Newsletter based on relevance of content, technical quality, editorial quality or mechanics, and overall appearance.
The awards aim to recognize officers, offices, and Information, Education, Communication (IEC) materials used by local government units and national government agencies for information dissemination and educating the public of programs, projects and services.
PIA as the country’s chief information arm acknowledges PIOs as partners in bringing the government closer to the people through the power of information.
