In a remarkable achievement, the Iloilo City Public Information Office (PIO) emerged as the top honoree with four awards at the 2023 Western Visayas Information Officers’ Year-end Conference and Awards at Citadines Amigo Iloilo City on December 22.
The conference hosted by Philippine Information Agency (PIA) recognized the effort of information officers in furthering development communication in the communities through promoting different government programs, projects, and initiatives. The event also highlighted the significance of government information work in pushing for advocacies of agencies and local government units.
Iloilo City PIO just swept the awards board, garnering the coveted Best Performing Information Office award, while Ms. Ma. Lucy M. Sinay was honored with the esteemed Hall of Fame Best Public Information Officer title. The PIO’s exceptional digital presence was acknowledged with the Best Facebook Page award for the third consecutive time, and their publication “KAUSWAGAN” clinched the impressive 2nd Place for the Best Newsletter.
Mayor Jerry Trenas said that these awards and accolades are a “testament to the tireless efforts of the Iloilo City PIO team” led by Sinay.
“Our very own PIO Department Head, Lucy Sinay, has been recognized as a Hall of Famer Awardee. Her dedication, hard work, and leadership have truly made a difference. Indeed, your achievement is a testament to your leadership and commitment,” said Trenas.
“As an Office that is committed to responding to the information needs of Ilonggo readers, we want to assure them that we dedicate our work to providing news straight from our City Government, in order to keep them updated wherever they are,” Iloilo City PIO said in a statement.
