The Iloilo City Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions (MICE) Center (ICMC), as a destination marketing organization, continues to lead in promoting and marketing one of Iloilo City’s major economic drivers, the tourism sector.
Strong promotions are being pushed by using its strategic engine to forge partnerships, encourage innovations, and ensure that the metropolis is showcased in the tourism industry.
ICMC formally launched a website for marketing and promotional activities Nov. 15 as part of their initiative to showcase the metropolis, where the public can easily reach ICMC for information on incentive programs, a calendar of events, projects, and other activities.
“Iloilo City is a MICE hub that aid in opening more opportunities to further boost the local tourism industry, drive investments and development, and create jobs for our beloved Ilonggos. We are very happy to share that services of MICE are going digital through the help of Northern Iloilo State University and Govesmart Solutuon Inc. through the MICE Center website at www.visitiloilocity.com and kiosk services,” said Mayor Jerry Treñas.
“The digitalization of the office’s operations has leveled up the bureaucracy of Iloilo City. As the city is more than just a MICE destination, we represent a way of life, and this might empower us to support a defined culture that brings each person together through enlightened leadership and innovation like the digitalization,” ICMC Director Salvador D. Sarabia Jr. said.
“We have been honored by the distinction of being one of the first LGUs to have digitalized its marketing and promotional activities, such as the Bike Capital complete with its own website, QR codes, and other digital media platforms,” he added.
A digital kiosk display will be installed at the Iloilo International Airport to allow tourists to easily access and browse the website visitiloilocity.com, and a QR code and link will be available for those who prefer to access it via their phones.
MICE incorporated extensive features on the website that users could easily navigate upon collaboration with developer GoveSmart Solutions Inc.
Major highlights of the website include listings that allow visitors to quickly identify where MICE facilities are located; a contact directory of all the transport companies and terminals for land, sea, and air travel; articles and publicity on the latest developments in Iloilo City pertaining to ICMC; and interactive articles and useful resources to provide the guests with a holistic introduction to Iloilo City.
“This allows visitors to quickly define or identify where the MICE facilities are located, and this will give a better view and better experience for our target people, who are the convention goers, the corporations, the groups, or whoever is looking for venues and events for conferences,” Govesmart Solutions Inc. Marketing and Development Officer Jao Ortega said. (Andrea Pearl Fernandez/ Iloilo City PIO)
