Iloilo city government is joining the month-long celebration of the National Statistics Month (NSM) which kicks-off today, October 1.
“Everyone should be aware of the importance of statistics in our day to day living; they are not ordinary numbers, they are numbers which can spell a big difference in governance and impact the lives of every Ilonggo,” Mayor Jed Patrick E. Mabilog said.
Starting October 1, streamers will be hanged in front of City Hall to show the local government’s solidarity with other agencies in observing the NSM.
On October 4, there will be a “Hataw” at 6:00 a.m. to be followed by a Tree Planting Activity in the radial road along Brgy. Lanit in Jaro district.
This is in coordination with the National Economic and Development Authority/National Statistical Coordination Board, Department of Environment and Natural Resources, City Planning and Development Office, City Environment and Natural Resources Office, City Budget Office, Iloilo City Urban Poor Affairs Office, and Lanit barangay officials.
The opening program and launching of Statistical Exhibit will be on Oct. 8 at Gaisano City Activity Center.
Closing and awarding ceremonies is scheduled Oct. 25, 2:00 p.m. at the Iloilo Grand Hotel. The Regional Statistical Coordination Committee 6 website will also be launched on the same day.
