Iloilo City received a commendation from Anti-Red Tape Authority (ARTA) for fully complying with the electronic Business One-Stop Shop (eBOSS) system.
The plaques of commendation and seal of eBOSS compliance from ARTA was received by Norman Tabud of the Iloilo City Business Permit and Licensing Division during the awarding ceremony held in Iloilo City, Aug. 22.
The eBOSS is a single online portal that allows clients to access all necessary services and information for business registration, including submission of applications, online payment, and electronic issuance of pertinent documents.
Complying with the online system is mandated under Republic Act 11032 or the Ease of Doing Business (EODB) Law and with ARTA-DTI-DILG-DICT JMC 2021-01.
According to Local Economic Development and Investment Promotion Office (LEDIPO) head Velma Jane Lao, the citation is a testament to the city government’s commitment under the leadership of Mayor Jerry P. Treñas to promote ease of doing business and efficient government service delivery.
Under the system, the city government was already able to digitally integrate 50 percent of the total barangays in the city.
“This means that we are now fully digital when it comes to business permitting. There is no need to go to the barangay to get a business permit, applicants can directly go to the City Hall or apply via an online system,” said Lao.
She added that since it’s an end-to-end business permit and licensing system, they can also issue electronic tax bill, Fire Safety Inspection Certificate Fee, and Barangay Clearance Fee and can accept other modes of payment aside from cash. (Iloilo City PIO)
