Iloilo City’s Uswag Dental Imaging Center Inauguration and Blessing was held in Brgy. Dungon A, Jaro District March 15.
The event was graced by Mayor Jerry Treñas, City Health Office (CHO) Head Dr. Annabelle Tang, CHO-Dental Division Head Dr. Daisheila Valasote, health personnel, barangay officials and staffs.
The facility houses two sets of x-ray machines with digital sensors and two cubicles for imaging procedure.
Dental x-rays or radiographs serve as a diagnostic aid in detecting tooth decay, infection, gum disease, impacted teeth, fractures, and other oral health issues.
To ensure that x-ray procedures are safe and of high quality for the public, the medical safety equipment and lead protective aprons are yet to be prepared before the center goes operational.
Only patients who have been advised and referred for an x-ray examination by dentists at various district health centers administered by CHO are eligible for this service to ensure patient monitoring and control.
“Our Oral Health Campaign to city residents is to deliver efficient health service and for the Uswag Dental Imaging Center to fully deliver the best services to the Ilonggos,” CHO Dental Division Head Daisheila Valasote said.
This is in line with CHO’s goal to function in conjunction with the centerpiece in providing adequate healthcare services to the Ilonggo community. (Andrea Pearl Fernandez/Iloilo City PIO)
It’s great to hear about the inauguration and blessing of the Uswag Dental Imaging Center in Iloilo City. The availability of dental x-rays is an important diagnostic tool in detecting various oral health issues, and it’s good to see that the center is equipped with modern and digital x-ray machines.
It’s also reassuring to know that safety measures are being taken seriously with the preparation of medical safety equipment and lead protective aprons before the center goes operational. Additionally, restricting the service to patients who have been advised and referred for an x-ray examination by dentists at various district health centers administered by CHO is a responsible approach to patient monitoring and control.
Overall, this center is a positive addition to the city’s healthcare services and aligns with the CHO’s goal of providing adequate healthcare services to the community.
