The Iloilo City Council has implemented the Comprehensive Land Use Plan (CLUP) and passed a zoning ordinance to become essential requirements for the documents eventual review and ratification by the Housing and Land Use Regulatory Board (HLURB) Board of Commissioners based in Metro Manila.
City Mayor Jed Patrick Mabilog endorsed the final draft of the CLUP, which covers 10 years from 2011 to 2020, to Vice Mayor Jose Espinosa III for agenda inclusion in Wednesday SP regular session.
The documents contain the CLUP final draft and zoning ordinance that covers Volume 1 or the Comprehensive Land Use Plan; Volume II or the Zoning Ordinance and Volume III on Sectoral Studies.
The CLUP, likewise reflects the city’s new and proposed development areas, regulatory function of the city government and the city’s major projects in the next 10 years.
The Regional Land Use Committee (RLUC) chaired by Reg. Dir. Ro-Ann of the National Economic Development Authority (NEDA) with members from 22 national line agencies and the city’s technical team from the city planning and development office and the city council jointly drafted and reviewed the CLUP.
