More than 5,000 bikers are expected to participate in the 3rd Iloilo Bike Festival here slated on March 13-20, 2016 in a move to show-off once again that Iloilo City is a bike-friendly and walkable city in the country.
City Mayor Jed Patrick Mabilog, who himself a bike enthusiast, will lead the bikers in promoting the bike culture by going around the city’s bike lanes while stopping at some tourist attractions.
Mabilog said that biking is a good exercise for the body and mind. More individuals are now into biking and it is expected that more individuals and corporate persons will join the third year of the activity.

The city government, in cooperation with Megaworld Corp. and Ronda Pilipinas Criterion, scheduled several events for six days starting with an opening program and fellowship and awarding night at the Iloilo Business Park on March 13.
The third bike festival will start with a photo contest and ifold Art Tour on March 15-18.
Slated on March 18 are major activities such as Obstacle and Adventure Course, Kids Biking activities, Bike Expo Show, Interschool Cycling, Flatland BMX Street, Fitstop Amazing Race and the unveiling of a bike statue at the Iloilo Business Park.
On March 20, activities include Bike Fun Ride, selection of the King and Queen of Bike Festival, Pinta Siklista, XCO/4X/BMX, trisikad race, sprint race and battle of the bands. [via PNA]
