The Iloilo City Government has suspended the issuance of permit on “wet and wild parties” and other similar activity propagated in school campuses and public places that jeopardize the safety of participants.
Issuing Executive Order No. 21, Series of 2014 last week, city mayor Jed Patrick Mabilog said that Resolution 2014-252 was passed recently by the city council requesting the city mayor to temporarily suspend the issuance of event permits.
A student of the Western Visayas College of Science and Technology was killed two weeks ago during a wet party at a posh open air fun event when affected by live wires of the sound system.
Mabilog said such event caused an unnecessary death that could have been avoided when the organizers ensure the safety of their participants. Only wholesome activities must be conducted to promote health and safety and enrichment of culture.
