Hundreds of cyclists will pedal their way through Megaworld’s Iloilo Business Park during this year’s Iloilo Bike Festival 2023.
Iloilo Business Park partnered with Iloilo City Government to host the much-anticipated event with the theme “#BikeKaNaman sa Iloilo City”, highlighting a series of the biggest cycling events that will run from July 23 to 30, 2023.
“This year’s Iloilo Bike Festival showcases how the city has become an advanced metropolis. Through our bike lanes, we hope to provide a safe, scenic, and sustainable road network for our people and visitors,” Mayor Jerry P. Treñas said.
Treñas refers to the 11-kilometer “Iloilo Bike Network” in four districts, which includes the four-kilometer bike lane on Diversion Road.
The annual Iloilo Bike Festival has been running since 2014 and pushes for the health and safety of cyclists.
It is also a project that supports the city’s development into a healthy, highly urbanized environment, and calls for biking to be an alternate mode of mobility and possible socioeconomic activity.
This year’s Bike Festival was also organized by the Iloilo Festivals Foundation Inc., Meetings, Incentives, Conventions, and Exhibitions (MICE) Center, JCI Iloilo Ilang Ilang, and other partner stakeholders.
The festivities will also include a BMX Competition, Bike Display, a Bike Symposium, Bike Trip Bingo, Bike Clinic, Mega Fun Ride, Tour De Iloilo, and Kiddie Race. (Angelo Miranda/Iloilo City PIO)
