Some 112 students of Iloilo City Community College (ICCC) received P1,000 each in recognition of their achievements as academic awardees for the 1st Semester of School Year 2021-2022, during Monday flag ceremony.
They are first to fourth year students of the city-run college, with 74 of them taking up Bachelor of Science (BS) in Office Administration and 38 are in BS in Travel Management course.
Mayor Jerry Treňas commended them and hope they will continue their excellent efforts in educational endeavors so that when they graduate, they can help their families in the near future.
“Gina-commend ko ini nga mga kabataan. Ini nga mga kabataan may academic awards sa aton ICCC kag ginhatagan ni sila tag-P1,000 halin sa extraordinary funds sang Office of the Mayor,” said Treňas.
“We hope you will continue your excellent education so that you will be a major change in your families. Sige-sigeha ninyo kay ang siudad sang Iloilo sa idalom sini nga liderato padayon sa pag improve sang aton eskwelahan para maayo ang inyo edukasyon,” he added.
Treňas prioritizes the education of Ilonggos thru his WHEELS roadmap, thus he is thankful that ICCC has good curriculum that will advance his academic programs.
ICCC will offer another course in the upcoming school year, Bachelor of Special Needs Education Major in Early Childhood Education. This new course offering is recognized to operate by the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) effective Academic Year 2022-2023 through a Certificate of Program Compliance (COPC) No. 08 series of 2022.
