Iloilo is a gastronomic haven with restaurants left and right offering international cuisines and local dishes. With so many options, it’s really not that hard to pick a favorite meal that’s delicious and pocket friendly.
Grab super app makes it even easier for freelancers like me who mostly work from home. With just a few taps on my phone and a short delivery time, I’m ready to dig in on my favorite meals!
GrabFood introduces Everyday Value Meals options with its ‘Starts at P99+’ tile in the app. You can enjoy scrumptious selections of dishes at affordable prices in this section of the app. Here are my top 5 picks:
Bokkeumbap at Samjang – starts at P64
I am not a fan of K-Pop, but I love Korean food. On top of my list for Korean dishes that are appetizing and affordable is the Bokkeumbap or Kimchi rice. On Grab Food, I recommend that you order it from Samjang – Mandurriao as the price starts at only P64. You want it with egg, it’s only P84. Pair it with their signature K-pops and it’s only P109.
I always go with both worlds, Bokkeumbap with K-pops and Egg and it’s just P128. Value meal indeed!
Arroz Caldo with Squid balls by Batchoy Ilonggo Foodhouse – P99
Batchoy and Pancit Molo are top two soup meals for Ilonggos on a rainy day, but if we want something with rice, Arrozcaldo immediately comes to mind.
Batchoy Ilonggo Foodhouse made this rice porridge even more special with their Arrozcaldo with Squid Ball offering. This hearty meal is topped with chicken strips, boiled egg, fried garlic, spring onion, black pepper, and three pieces of squid balls. Yummy!
Palabok of Razon’s by Glenn – starts at P114
Pancit Palabok is one of my favorites among Filipino noodle dishes, and Razon’s by Glenn has made a name out of it. The noodle dish topped with shrimp gravy, shrimp, pork cracklings, and eggs, etc. is very saucy and creamy, perfect for lunch or snacks.
In GrabFood, Razon’s Palabok offerings are best sellers: Special Jr for P114, regular Palabok Special for P131, Palabok Overload Fiesta at P167.
Croque Madame by Mestizo – P137
When I want something filling during brunch, lunch or mid-afternoon snacks, I go for Croque Madame by Mestizo. Mestizo is a modern Spanish, Mexican and Filipino inspired restaurant along Gen. Luna, but they also offer something French like this Croque Madame. Yes you don’t have to be there to dig on this French sandwich of home-baked sourdough toasts with ham, melted cheese, bechamel sauce and fried egg. Extravagance, yet for only P137!
Waffle by Prince Baker – P150
On times that I just want to keep hunger at bay real quick, I simply order a Waffle and pair it with my brewed coffee. In Grabfood, Prince Baker sells it with syrup and butter for P150. Also, there’s an option to pair it with bacon or chicken.
