Grab Philippines officially launched its flagship mobility service GrabCar in Roxas City. GrabCar is piloting with a fleet of more than 20 vehicles, covering an expansive serviceable area within Roxas City, which includes the Roxas City Airport.
As the first app-based ride-hailing service in Roxas City, GrabCar efficiently connects drivers with the commuting public – composed of locals and visiting tourists who seek a tech-driven mobility alternative that is safe, transparent, and convenient.
The entry of GrabCar was officially announced on Tuesday in an event led by Roxas City Mayor Ronnie Dadivas and leaders from Grab Philippines.
“An efficient transportation landscape is essential to a city’s economic progress. As the local government of Roxas City looks toward a bigger, better, and brighter future for its citizens; and seeks to enhance the experience for its visitors, we are proud to welcome digital mobility solutions like GrabCar. This service also effectively broadens our capacity to serve a growing population of commuters,” shares Mayor Ronnie Dadivas.
The mayor also emphasized the positive impact GrabCar is poised to have on the city’s livelihood. “Witnessing the success of GrabCar in other cities across the nation, there is no doubt that it will uplift the lives of more Capiznon families, offering viable livelihood opportunities to professional drivers in our city and province. Together, we are building a future where progress and prosperity are within everyone’s reach.”
GrabCar, the flagship mobility service of the leading superapp Grab, is now available in more than 10 cities across the country. Filipino commuters favor GrabCar for three primary reasons:
● Accessible Safety Features: Commuters benefit from a wide array of safety features such as ‘Share Your Ride,’ which allows passengers to share a tracking link of their ride; the ‘Emergency SOS Button,’ which connects passengers directly to authorities and the Grab response team should there be any untoward situation on the road; and the ‘Report an Issue Button,’ which enables immediate feedback on their experience with GrabCar driver-partners.
● Transparent Fares: Grab’s upfront fares enable passengers to avoid “bill shock”. Passengers also receive a full breakdown of their ride on their Grab Activity Tab and via their registered email addresses. GrabCar fares fully comply with the LTFRB fare matrix for Transport Network Vehicle Services (TNVS).
● Convenient Access: GrabCar is easily accessible through the Grab app, featuring a seamless booking process where passengers can input their pick-up and drop-off points. The Grab system efficiently allocates the nearest driver to the user and selects the most efficient route using GrabMaps and Navigation.
Grab Philippines Vice President for City Operations CJ Lacsican highlights Grab’s dedication to elevating the experience of the Filipino commuter. “We are unwavering in our commitment to providing every Filipino with an additional option for their daily commute – one that cares for them from the moment they step out of their doors and start booking to the time they reach their destination. This customer-centric approach is embodied by our well-trained fleet of driver-partners, who have undergone rigorous onboarding and assessment processes to ensure that every GrabCar passenger experiences top-notch mobility — one that is safe, transparent, and convenient. It therefore fills our hearts with pride to officially say, ‘Ari na kami sa Roxas City’ as we look forward to serving more Capiznon commuters.”
The introduction of GrabCar in Roxas City marks Grab’s continued growth in the Western Visayas region, now covering the entire Iloilo Province and extending to the neighboring provinces of Antique, Capiz, and Aklan, as well as Metro Bacolod and Northern Bacolod.
