There will be no classes at all levels in Iloilo City on Friday, September 14, 2018.
Mayor Jose S. Espinosa III announced Thursday evening that there will be class suspensions in both public and private schools in Iloilo City tomorrow due to possible heavy rains and strong winds that typhoon Ompong may bring.
Here’s the official declaration, as posted in his official page and that of Iloilo City Government:
Upon checking all available data sets from warning agencies particularly from PAGASA and with the recommendation of our CDRRMO, I declare the suspension of classes at all levels both public & private in order to protect the safety of our students from the possible effects of monsoon rain which may range from moderate to occassionally heavy that may lead to possible flooding that may result to sickness, injuries or accidents. The general welfare is the topmost concern of the city government. Stay safe everyone and may God Bless Iloilo City.
